About Us
Our members come from a wide area across Warwickshire and beyond, including Rugby, Birmingham, Coventry, Leamington Spa, Knowle, Banbury, Solihill and, of course, Stratford-upon-Avon. As well as our three core crafts, members possess a variety of allied skills and interests, from knitting and crochet to braid making and growing natural dye plants. We love to pass on our knowledge and, as a guild, we try to inspire each other to continually expand our skills and knowledge. You may see guild members out and about demonstrating at local events and venues (see Calendar page for more information on where and when we are demonstrating this year). You may also have seen some of our work on display around the town, for example the Tapestries at Stratford Hospital or the Shipston (see links below).
Guild Meetings
Our regular meetings are built around an engaging and varied programme of activities and expert speakers with workshops. Meetings are usually held on the third Saturday in the month from 10am - 3.00pm at the Stratford-Upon-Avon Methodist Church Hall, Old Town, CV37 6BG (see Contact Us page for map and directions). The programme varies slightly through the year please look at the Meetings page for the schedule if you plan to visit, noting that we have our garden meeting in July, and a break for holidays in August, so no meetings in Stratford for those months. In addition to the meetings the Guild are running regular @home meetings (on zoom) to support the social interaction of the members. See the meetings page for dates and times.
Our guild meetings are usually open to visitors from other guilds or to prospective members who wish to find out more before joining us. Please let us know in advance (email) if you wish to attend a meeting so that we can offer guidance and be ready to welcome you.
We are happy to welcome new members whether novice or expert in the weaving, spinning and dyeing crafts.
Please consult the Join Us page for information on how to register.
