TEAM OVER THE RAINBOW - BRITSPIN 14TH - 18TH OCTOBER 2020

 TEAM OVER THE RAINBOW

BRITSPIN 2020

This year's team from the Guild are preparing to enter this competition next Wednesday at 9 pm.  The challenge is to combine spinning as great a length of fibre in the 4 days of the competition, with other challenges, such as the great number of different breed fleeces and Britspin Bingo! (more to follow next week on that one).

Generously sponsored again this year by the WOOL WAREHOUSE in leamington, the team will be spinning from 9 pm on 14th - 9 pm on 18th October, with donated fibre and all the fibre dug out from their stash!  Visit their site by clicking on the logo above.

With current COVID lockdown guidelines the members will be spinning from home but one member has managed to grab a secure space at the Market Hall Museum in Warwick.  Visitors can book your FREE tickets to see our live demonstration and to visit the museum by going on  www.warwickshire.gov.uk/heritageboxoffice. You can also find booking details on the Warwickshire Museum Facebook page.

Britspin winners help to choose the Charity for the next year's competition and this year it is all in aid of the very worthy RNLI. They are close to the hearts of our members as this year's mascot Barney was rescued after falling down a cliff down into the sea in St Davids.  Click on the picture below to see the actual rescue.

If you fancy donating (pretty please) this can be done on the virgin money giving page at https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/.../showROFundraiserPage... , it would be great if you could mention team 'Over the Rainbow'!

Krys and Anna were interviewed this morning by CWR and you can listen to it using this link https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/live:bbc_radio_coventry_warwickshire.

It includes an interview with the actual St Davids RNLI team (pictured above).  The picture also links to the RNLI website where you can see Barney being rescued.

Articles have been put into local newspapers and can been seen in the Stratford Herald today and Solihull Observer from three days ago LINK
