SATURDAY 19 MAY 2018 TAPESTRY WEAVING - A talk by Ann Howells and Rosalind Lobb

This Saturday's Birthday meeting of the Guild will commence with a talk by Ann Howells and Rosalind Lobb about Tapestry Weaving.  The talk will include information about:

‘Reflections’ tapestry woven for the 25th anniversary of Stratford Guild of Weavers, Spinners and Dyers;

The idea for weaving a communal tapestry for the Shipston-on-Stour Wool Fayre, near Barcheston where the Sheldon map of Warwickshire, in Warwick Museum, was woven and the start of new Shipston woven tapestry;

Setting up a resources room to demonstrate
tapestry weaving for the Dovecot exhibition
at Compton Verney;

and the Invitation to weave at Packwood House as the National Trust needed funds to clean faded tapestries in their collection.

As it is our Birthday, lunch will follow with everyone bringing a plate and drink to share - savoury or sweet - whatever you fancy or have agreed to bring!

We will also be having a bit of a fashion show of scarves the members have made - so bring them all along and practice the walk ladies!

The day will commence as usual with arrival at 10.00 am for a 10.30 am start.  Looking forward to seeing you all there.
