About SAORI Weaving
SAORI
weaving is a contemporary form of handweaving, originating in Japan, that
encourages creativity and self-expression.
- There are no patterns to follow
- Weavers use simple techniques to create individual patterns, which can be very simple or quite complex, depending on the wishes of the person weaving.
- ‘Mistakes’ and ‘flaws’ are very much allowed, even encouraged, as they are considered to add to the beauty of the weaving
- The main focus is on having fun and expressing yourself
